Ways to keep my dogs cool in the summer?
It’s been in the triple digits (101 degrees) here in Washington, and I two dogs with thick coats. One is a Rottweiler mix and one’s a chow mix. I can tell that they’re miserable in this unusual heat. What are some things I can do to keep them cool?
What’s going on this summer?! All you westerners are getting great weather and us over on the east get rain rain, every day! 
Poor babies, it is uncomfortable in the heat… you should always supply cool, fresh water. People sometimes give ice cubes but I wouldn’t because that can cause bloat and can cause them to just feel worse. When we take my pup to our boat on a hot day we spray him with the hose every once and a while to keep him wet and cooled down. I also have a chilly bone from petsmart which is essentially a tough cloth bone that you can soak in water or chicken broth, freeze for a few hours, then give as a treat. Always make sure they have a shady area to rest in outside, and inside try to keep them in a room where there’s a fan or a/c going.
