The Best Spanish Books Ever
Spanish literature has been known to inspire a lot of talented people. The beauty of the language is known to have told some of the most exquisite stories the world has come to know, as well as deliver some of the most thought provoking ideas. It is quite intriguing to see that best selling books in the Spanish language start off with non fiction work, a couple of translated books, before local fictions come in. There are several Rocket Spanish Review booklets present all over the world. Most people probably have guessed correctly that the latter are mostly works by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The Non Fictions
One example of the non fiction books is the number one best selling Spanish language book, Carta de Jesus al Papa. The 344 page book was first published in April of 2003 by Booket. Written by Fernando Sanchez Drago, the book offers letters to the Pope which were supposedly written by Jesus, if He were to sit down and write them.
Los Cinco Soles de Mexico
Another non fiction work, Los Cinco Soles de Mexico is a passionate record of the country’s history, from the times of the Aztecs to the days of Chiapas. The 430 page book was first published in 2000 by Editorial Seix Barral for the author Carlos Fuentes.
La Comunicacion Eficaz
La Comunicacion Eficaz is a self help book, published in January 2001. The book was written by Dr Lair Riberio, who teaches better communication as a way toward better and happier existence.
The Work of Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Even though the book has been around since 1989, Cien Anos de Soledad remains one of the best Spanish language book on many lists. Translated into One Hundred Years of Solitude for the English speaking audience, the book is known as a masterpiece of Gabriel Garcia Marquez that tells about the hundred years seen by the village of Macondo.
Marquez’s other novel, El Amor de los Tiempos del Colera, also enjoys a perpetual spot on the best selling list. Already made into a film, Love in The Time of Cholera is a love triangle that spans over half a century.
Translation Work
The real top 5 Spanish language books are actually translated work, interestingly enough. The second on the list is El Senor de los Anillos (The Lord of the Rings) and the third is Stephen Hawking’s The Universe in a Nutshell, El Universo en una Cascara de Nuez.
